Automation Integration Engineer

Job Description
Our client has an aseptic drug product facility, specialising in secondary manufacturing activities Formulation, Vial/Syringe Filling, Lyophilisation and Packaging.

This company is developing the capability to produce all its medicines in Dun Laoghaire, South Dublin, helping to ensure continuity of supply of medicines as they expand internationally.

CIM are looking for an experienced Automation Engineer to expand an onsite project support service we provide our client.

As a contract, the position offers excellent rates and the opportunity for a long-term placement.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Work in partnership with the site Engineering Automation team and MES teams to integrate automation systems with the Werum PAS-X MES System.
  • Lead and support the design, implementation and maintenance of the site OPC server in a GMP regulated manufacturing setting.
  • Document and track resolution of issues and tasks.
  • Advance the use of system capability and features to drive business efficiencies and process optimisation.
  • Lead and support change controls, system improvements, development of detailed specifications, engineering documents, and standard operating procedures.
  • Work in partnership with the site Engineering Automation team and Data Historian team to integrate automation systems with the data historian system.
  • Adherence to GXP procedures on site in relation to all aspects of the position.
  • Aide the identification/implementation of system improvements and corrective actions.
  • Skills and Education:

  • Third level qualification in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Manufacturing or Equivalent.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience working in the Life Sciences/ Pharma sector or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong automation level 2 background with experience integrating level 2 systems with the level 3 layer.
  • OSI PI Data Historian Experience beneficial.
  • Knowledge of GAMP software development lifecycle, ANSI/ISA-S95 industry standard and 21 CFR Part 11.
  • Independent, self-motivated, organized, able to multi-task in project environments and skilled in communication and collaboration.
