FLS Manager

Job Description
Our client has an aseptic drug product facility, specialising in secondary manufacturing activities Formulation, Vial/Syringe Filling, Lyophilisation and Packaging.

The Front Line Support Manager has the responsibility for managing the front line support and patching teams onsite and ensuring consistent delivery of quality service.
As a contract, the position offers excellent rates and the opportunity for a long-term placement

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the automation FLS team (6 engineers) who provide automation support to manufacturing and other functions on a shift basis
  • Manage the engineering FLS team (4 engineers) who provide engineering support to manufacturing and other functions on a shift basis.
  • Manage the onsite Patching team (2 engineers) who deploy Cybersecurity patches to manufacturing systems as per the client’s policies on a quarterly basis
  • Organise the shift rota for the various teams onsite
  • Plan, prioritise and assign tasks for the shift automation team
  • Manage and close out issues raised on tracking tools (cimApps)
  • Attend and represent IS/Automation at relevant production meetings
  • Monitor and plan scheduled PM (preventative maintenance) activities
  • Escalate any conflicting priorities to client’s IS/Automation Manager
  • Project manage automation specific tasks at the annual site shutdowns
  • Reporting of key performance indicators (KPIs) to client
  • Regularly liaise with stakeholders to ensure effective communication on outages
  • Adherence to GXP procedures on site in relation to all aspects of the position
  • Skills and Education

  • Third level qualification in Electrical, Electronic, Systems Engineering, Computer Science or Equivalent
  • 5+ years’ experience working with automated control systems preferably in the Life Sciences/ Pharma sector
  • Excellent communication skills
  • PLC/SCADA/Batch experience with preference for following technologies: Rockwell FactoryTalk SE View & Batch, Siemens PLC/HMI, iFix, Wonderware, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus and OSIsoft PI Data Historian.
  • Knowledge of GAMP software development lifecycle, ANSI/ISA-S88 and S95 industry standards and 21 CFR Part 11
  • Experience in project managing automation projects and/or a portfolio of multiple projects simultaneously
  • Independent, self-motivated and organised.
  • Experience managing teams of senior automation engineers
  • Recognised project management qualification such as PMI or Prince2 is a plus
