Our client has a 90 acre biotechnology campus in Clondalkin, Dublin, focusing on the production of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), solid-dose pharmaceuticals, sterile injectables, biopharmaceuticals, and vaccines.

CIM are looking for an experienced Automation Engineer, who will be working on manufacturing Vendor Package Equipment, Multiple SCADA Platforms and a variety of Programmable Logic Controllers and embedded controllers. You should be service orientated, delivery focused and have the ability to build rapport with key members of the operations and engineering teams in specifying and implementing automation changes \ fixes \ improvement projects and system troubleshooting.
As a contract, the position offers excellent rates and the opportunity for a long-term placement.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Contribute to the completion of projects, manage your own time to meet agreed targets and develop plans for short-term work activities on your own projects.
Developing automated system life cycle documents to meet cGMP requirements (i.e. SOPs, Configuration Specifications, Functional Design Specifications).
Supporting department audit\inspection readiness and participate in audits and regulatory inspections as required.
Ensure that work performed is accurate, timely, efficient and compliant with corporate policies, Good Manufacturing Practices regulations, and Regulatory Agency requirements.
Must be solutions orientated, delivery focused and passionate about supporting production with technical support solutions.
Implementing code/systems changes on the automation systems under change management/change control as part of sustaining and capital projects as required.
Working on production systems continuous improvement initiatives.
Maintaining the validated state of the automation systems.
Any other activities as directed by the Area Lead.
Skills and Education
Third level qualification in Electrical, Electronic, Systems Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
3+ years’ experience working with automated control systems preferably in the Life Sciences/ Pharma or Medical Device sectors.
Excellent communication skills.
PLC/SCADA/Batch experience with preference for following technologies: PLC/SCADA/HMI experience with preference for following technologies: Siemens PLC/HMI, GE iFix SCADA, Aveva/Wonderware InTouch, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus and OSIsoft PI Data Historian.
Knowledge of GAMP software development lifecycle, ANSI/ISA-S88 and S95 industry standards and 21 CFR Part 11.
Independent, self-motivated and organised.
